The World Needs Your Story
You may not be a world leader or political activist. You don't have millions (let alone billions) of dollars or a huge social following.
You’re just a:
conscious parent, immigrant,
person with a disability,
Black woman,
person with chronic depression,
eXvangelical, former inmate,
Indigenous person,
anti-capitalist
white dude who wants to the world to be better,
feminist, AuDHDer,
former Christian Nationalist,
environmentalist
ace, fat, or trans
But you know the power of story to change people.
You've experienced it in your own life—what happens when you see yourself reflected on the pages of a book or suddenly understand someone you didn't before.

You’re writing for your own healing, for the person you used to be, and for the person out there who needs to know they’re not alone.
You’re deeply connected to your story. It’s been with you a long time, and if you don’t write it, you’ll always wonder, what if?
So you’ve read all the craft books, listened to the podcasts, maybe even joined a critique group or two. You can write gorgeous sentences—hell, you even make yourself cry.
But something's still not clicking.
The structure feels wobbly. Your characters meander here and there and everywhere. And that theme you’re aiming for? It's playing hide-and-seek like a toddler who's discovered the crawlspace under the stairs. Where the hell did they go?
You're stuck in a frustrating loop of trying to solve problems you can't quite name.
So you wonder, “Should I just give up?”

Don’t give up.
No one else can write the story you have to tell, and we need it now more than ever.
It's time to try something different.

What you need is someone to walk with you in your story.
Someone who sees both you and your story, and who gets that you can’t write just any book, you need to write one that means something.
That’s where I come in.
Hi, I'm Dani Abernathy.
I’m a book coach and Enneagram teacher who helps deep thinkers and feelers write the stories they need to tell so their readers can feel seen and can see others.
I believe stories can change the world, one reader at a time, because they teach us to have more compassion for ourselves and others.
Stories are one of our most powerful tools for having less war and more love and damn could we use some of that. That’s why I’m on a mission to support folks like you as you write brave stories that tell the truth (even in a fantasy world).

Take this four-question quiz to discover what kind of support you need.

You Are The Roots Of Your Story
Every element of your novel grows from who you are.
You provide the characters, plot, and prose, but also the meaning, impact, hell, even the courage to let someone read your book. Every part of your story grows from you.
That's why the foundation of all my work with writers is self-discovery. As you discover yourself, you discover your story. As you discover your story, you discover yourself.
THE STORY TREE
My clients are just as excited to learn about themselves as they are to finish their damn book. They're willing to write slow and deep, knowing what they're creating has the power to change hearts and minds.

Let me be as real as the background of this photo.
Your book can only be as healthy as you are.
Writing is slow, circular, and requires a shit-ton of courage. That's why we don't fast draft our baby book ideas or tell ourselves we have to rapid publish three books by next year.
You deserve the gift of writing slow.
Writing slow gives your story time to grow as your understanding of yourself grows.
Writing slow means you can have a flare up without feeling like a failure.
Writing slow means you can take a break when the world is pummeling you with all the things instead of forcing yourself to power through.
In a world that tells you not to nap unless you've earned it, writing this way is a radical act of resistance—a place where you can create at your own pace, honor your body's needs, and find community with others who get it.
It’s time to be done with quick fixes and a magic formulas and get real guidance through the messy, beautiful process of turning your tangled draft into something you're deeply proud of.
“I have a thousand percent clearer picture of the story I want to tell, why it matters, and who my characters are deep down.”
